Located only three miles south of Main Street, Fredericksburg, Runnymede is an idyllic retreat situated among the hills in a charming pastoral setting. Overlooking the valley below, this elegant English style inn will delight you with country charm and attention to detail. Gathering areas downstairs are ideal for events, including weddings, business meetings, casual classes, and social gatherings. The meeting area is available for rent; please check with your hosts for pricing and availability. Note: the patio and meeting area may be used by groups that are not  staying at Runnymede.

Downstairs offers two breakfast areas, a kitchen, meeting areas, and seating area. Cooking area is reserved for the host's use.

This room provides luxury for two or more guests. Dark walnut and English oak antiques set the stage for traditional styling. The bedroom is outfitted with both a king bed and a queen bed. Two wing-back chairs provide comfortable seating.  The private bath offers double pedestal sinks and a large whirlpool tub with shower. This room also has a romantic all-season electric fireplace for your comfort and enjoyment. A small refrigerator and coffee maker complete the suite!

Thatcher Cottage

A very popular unit, Thatcher Cottage is a charming getaway. The large living room/bedroom offers comfortable seating to enjoy the fireplace and the television (with satellite). The king sized canopy bed is picturesque with lovely blue and white touches. A twin bed can accommodate a third person. The coffee bar includes a coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. With a large whirlpool tub and shower, the bath is simply opulent. A full breakfast will be provided in the main inn. You are welcome to use the pool or walk around the property.

Kew Garden Cottage

Kew Garden Cottage is a spacious retreat overlooking the water garden with Koi and waterfalls. From the windows, guests can look over the water garden or can relax on the deck and listen to the soothing waterfalls. This refreshing room is decorated in tones of sage, berry and cream. A king-size bed with beautiful sage linens dominates the room. A guest bar with mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave is in the room along with table and chairs. The large bath has whirlpool tub and two sinks with makeup seating. You can curl up in the couch next to a romantic electric fireplace while you watch a movie from our video library. The couch also makes into a queen-size bed for additional sleeping space. An incredible relaxing getaway!

Chatsworth Garden Cottage has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The periwinkle blue walls are a perfect backdrop for the canopied king-size bed covered with a unique floral quilt. This spacious room has comfortable chairs with an ottoman so you can relax and put your feet up. A day bed is tucked in the corner to provide a cozy retreat or extra sleeping space. A guest bar with mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave is in the room along with table and chairs. The wooden deck provides a wonderful observation point for birds and butterflies. This room is also designed to accommodate those with special needs. In addition to the whirlpool tub, the bathroom has a walk-in shower with fold-down seat, adjustable showerhead and grip bars. Doors are wide to accommodate a wheel chair and grip bars also surround the toilet. The room is fresh, spacious and welcoming. Newly opened in May, 2005, this cottage is the "crown jewel" of Runnymede. This two bedroom, two-bath cottage is a perfect romantic retreat for one couple or a wonderful place for couples traveling together. Enter the cottage from a spacious porch with comfortable rockers designed for enjoying the hill country views. The sitting area has two love seats, TV with VCR/DVD player, electric fireplace, mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The "queen's quarters" bedroom downstairs is decorated with fresh yellow and blue linens on the queen bed. The large bathroom has a shower. Upstairs the "king's quarters" contains the king size bed and an inviting whirlpool tub, cozy love seat, TV with VCR/DVD player and electric fireplace. Decorated in spicy red tones, the room wraps the guests in luxury.
